November 21, 2024: Roses and a Handwritten Letter from Kyle
On November 21, 2024, after I had ended the relationship and sent written household and separation boundaries, I received roses and a handwritten letter signed “Kyle.”
In the letter, Kyle wrote that his love for me remained strong and that he wanted to rebuild our relationship. He described wanting to become a provider who supported me, brought stability to my life, and eased my burdens.
He acknowledged:
“You have given so much to me and our family, and I know I haven’t always been the man you needed me to be. For that I am truly sorry.”
He also wrote that he intended to pursue stable employment and therapy and concluded by saying that he loved me and was committed to supporting me and the family.
WHY THIS RECORD MATTERS
The letter preserves Kyle’s own contemporaneous description of his feelings, responsibilities, and intentions shortly before he gave a materially different description of the household in his December TA-DVS application.
The letter does not prove that abuse was impossible or establish what happened during every interaction. It documents what Kyle chose to communicate at this particular point in the timeline.
