Artifact Summary

This text exchange documents my attempt to end my marriage on November 8, 2024.

At 12:02 a.m., I wrote:

“I don’t want you here. Please leave soon. I know I’m gonna. It’s over this time.”

Throughout the exchange, I repeatedly stated that the marriage was over, asked him to leave, attempted to stop further communication, and said that I did not feel safe.

That day, I moved out of our shared bedroom and into the living room, which also served as my daycare space. I remained there nearly twenty-four hours a day for the next twenty-seven days while we continued living in the same apartment.

Our final separation occurred on December 5, 2024.

Context

At the time of these messages, we were still married and living in the same apartment.

The exchange took place during an escalating conflict and contains hostile language from both participants. It also includes serious and conflicting allegations. The messages preserve what each person communicated that day; their inclusion does not mean that every allegation within them has been independently established.

What the artifact establishes directly is that I repeatedly communicated my intention to end the relationship:

“You need to respect my boundaries.”

“And you need to move out.”

“I do not feel safe here with you.”

“I do not want to stay with you. I do not want to be married with you.”

“Separate your things from mine.”

I also acted on that decision by leaving our shared bedroom and moving into the living room and daycare space.

Later that day, after I had ended the relationship and attempted to stop communication, he contacted me again seeking my income information and assistance obtaining a vehicle. I declined to accept financial or insurance responsibility and asked him to tell the program that we were separating.

Rebekah: You abused me and I need us to be separated as soon as possible and then divorced. You have already cost me sooooo much including two of my children who don’t with to be around you. We are all fucked yo because you fucked us up by not only not supporting us but also cheating on us and letting us go down so many times to the point we have been homeless four times.

You wanna know what else, I had never been homeless before I met you and I was age 30...so not terribly young. 😑

Rebekah: Tell a judge.

Rebekah: Bring all the receipts for everything you contributed.

Rebekah: Need adderall to stay awake.

Need weed to cope.

So I can keep pay rent and bills with no help after having been homeless four times in a 10 year period.

Signed Rebekah Morgan 12:20 on 11/8/3024

Edited

Rebekah: And abused by you.

Rebekah: Look around sir!!

Rebekah: I know I’m not wrong, and btw I am rarely wrong. 😑

Rebekah: I can’t believe I ever thought that I was not good enough for you.

No. You are not good enough for me.

The only time I remember getting close to you was when you got in my face to confront me—because apparently that’s something you felt you had to do against me, especially since you’re a fairly strong and fit yoga fitness instructor for the parks and recs where you volunteer and I am age 50 with a severe amount of literal health conditions likely exacerbated by my compounded trauma including severe asthma exacerbated by my coping mechanisms. I felt very intimidated by you, if I punched, which I certainly don’t remember doing, it might have been a defensive response. If you are accusing me of injuring you, I hope you document them with photos (as I have done and dated journal), especially since I cannot recall punching you at all.

To be honest with you, you have literally always been toxic for me and I always knew and I never wanted to admit it. The thing is, you were paying strippers snd whatever else says after we had just met and had been sexual.

I can’t begin to tell you of the trauma I endured while you chose to ignore avoid me and jerk off to porn - when I needed your love and support - and instead I ended up in a crazy mental institution for 10 days - so you could have plenty of time to continue to ignore avoid and jerk off to porn for 10 days.

You can think of me as sick if you want. Go ahead. I’m not trying to impress you anymore, it took me 20 years to figure out that I’m never gonna. Hate me all you want.

Separate your things from mine and I will figure out what I’m going to do with my personal belongings this weekend.

I really wish you the best whatever that looks like for you.

If you see this or don’t see this... may we be happy, may we be well, may we be peaceful, may we be free. 🪷

Later That Day — 12:34 PM

Kyle: Hopefully you can see this. I need to know your current monthly income

Kyle: Roughly

Rebekah: Why is that?

Kyle: Cars for success

Edited

Kyle: Has a car for me

Kyle: But they want details about income from you

Rebekah: Wonderful. I don’t know my monthly income right now.

Rebekah: It’s not too much.

Kyle: 3k 4k

Rebekah: Oh no.

Rebekah: Also I don’t want to be associated with your car.

Kyle: It will be for me

Kyle: There isn’t a loan

Kyle: It’s for insurance

Kyle: And stability

Rebekah: You don’t have insurance money and since we are still married and live together I would have to be on that insurance and it’s about $150-$175 per month.

Rebekah: I do not authorize myself to be associated with your car situation.

Kyle: Right but they inquired about all element of our budget

Rebekah: I have my own car I have to worry about.

Rebekah: Tell them we are splitting?

Kyle: You won’t be

Rebekah: Happy you got a car. Congrats!!

Kyle: It will be in my name.

Rebekah: I understand. Happy for you.

Kyle: Thanks to your application

Edited

Rebekah: Things are different now. I certainly cannot afford the liability of a second vehicle.

Rebekah: So you can let them know the change of circumstances right?

Kyle: Forget it.

Edited

Kyle: They don’t do cars to live out of

Edited

Kyle: I am trying to secure a vehicle. Do you want to help with that ?

Rebekah: I understand that. I filled that app out for us a long time ago. Things have changed I have an expensive vehicle I can barely afford. No I don’t want to help you at all

Rebekah: 100% no.

Kyle: Not even to help me leave

Rebekah: You don’t need my help to leave.

Rebekah: No I don’t need to help you I have really helped you enough sorry you can’t see that.

Kyle: I knew better than to ask you.

Kyle: My bad

Rebekah: Okay.

Patterns Documented in the Exchange

Weaponizing the Children

During my attempt to end the marriage, he claimed:

“The kids know what you are.”

“They are scared of you.”

“And they fear to be in the room with you.”

He later wrote that one of our children:

“cries himself to sleep because his mom is crazy.”

That statement was not true.

It invoked our child’s supposed private suffering to portray me as mentally unstable and harmful as a mother. It placed the child inside an adult conflict and forced me into the position of defending my sanity and motherhood instead of maintaining my decision to leave.

This is consistent with triangulation, weaponization of a child, maternal undermining, pathologizing, and guilt induction.

Pathologizing and Credibility Erosion

He repeatedly called me “crazy,” “sick,” “unstable,” “insufferable,” “mean,” and “gross.” He also used my prescribed Adderall, cannabis use, anger, and mental-health history as evidence that I was irrational.

This functioned as pathologizing and credibility erosion. My distress and health history were used to undermine my account of the relationship and shift attention away from the boundaries I was establishing.

Contempt and Degradation

The repeated use of words such as “gross,” “sick,” and “insufferable” did not address the substance of what I was saying.

These were contemptuous personal attacks delivered while I was attempting to end the marriage. Their effect was to degrade me and pull me into defending my character rather than discussing separation.

Blame Shifting and Reversal

When I described abuse, betrayal, financial strain, and my desire to separate, the response repeatedly returned to my alleged instability, medication use, parenting, and behavior.

This reflects blame shifting and reversal of responsibility. The focus moved away from the conduct I was naming and toward a case against my sanity, fitness, and credibility.

Boundary Resistance

I repeatedly wrote:

“Please stop talking to me.”

“You need to respect my boundaries.”

“And you need to move out.”

“I’m gonna block your number now.”

The conversation nevertheless continued. Later that day, contact resumed with a request for my income information and help securing a vehicle.

The exchange shows how stating a boundary did not create immediate physical, emotional, or financial separation.

Entitlement to Continued Support

After I ended the relationship, he still sought my financial information and cooperation. When I refused, he replied:

“Not even to help me leave.”

“I knew better than to ask you.”

Those responses reframed my refusal as a personal failure, even though I had already stated that the marriage was over and that I could not accept liability for another vehicle.

This is consistent with guilt induction and an expectation of continued labor and financial support after separation had been declared.

What This Artifact Documents

This exchange documents:

  • My repeated statements that I wanted the marriage to end

  • My requests that he leave the apartment and respect my boundaries

  • My statement that I did not feel safe

  • My decision to move out of our shared bedroom

  • My attempt to separate our belongings and finances

  • Claims involving a child’s supposed distress that I state were false

  • Triangulation and weaponization of the children

  • Attacks on my motherhood and mental stability

  • The use of medication and trauma history to discredit me

  • Contemptuous insults and personal degradation

  • Blame shifting and reversal of responsibility

  • Conflicting allegations concerning physical contact

  • References to infidelity, pornography, and emotional harm

  • Financial conflict and repeated housing instability

  • Continued requests for assistance after I ended the relationship

  • The difficulty of creating an immediate separation while sharing a home

Why This Artifact Matters

This was not a private realization reconstructed after the marriage ended.

On November 8, 2024, I directly stated that I wanted him to leave, that I did not feel safe, and that I did not want to remain married.

I did not merely say that the marriage was over. That same day, I removed myself from our shared bedroom and began living in the living room and daycare space.

For the next twenty-seven days, I remained there nearly twenty-four hours a day because ending the marriage in words did not immediately give me the resources or ability to create a permanent physical separation.

The exchange also shows what happened when I tried to leave: my mental health, medication, motherhood, credibility, and character became the focus. Even the children were invoked against me.

This artifact documents the difference between declaring that a relationship is over and being able to make that separation safe, practical, and permanent.

Our final separation occurred on December 5, 2024.
